Leisure and Well-Being

Fulfilling activities

Being able to occupy oneself, and find ways to spend time engaged in an acitivity is a challenge many people with Autism face. Yet in their adult lives, there are many times that people with Autism need to be able to fill their day without the assistance of organised activities. Our aim at APPA is to replicate a normal, fulfilling day with balanced activities, and to promote the ability to gain enjoyment from activities such as going for a walk; swimming, watching TV, listening to music and computer based activities.

Community integration

We also focus on health and well being though activities such as going for walks, ball skills, golfing, regular stretching and dancing exercises.

We do many outings in the community which build on many aspects of socialization and community integration. Examples include ten pin bowling, attending theatre, going to movies, visiting exhibitions like Sci Bono, etc.
