Daily Living Skills

Learning independence

Schooling years are often focused on achieving best outcomes in the academic space. Many adults with Autism have not mastered basic daily living skills such as independent dressing and eating, toothbrushing, hair care, full toileting, shaving, among others. Our programme aims to improve skills in self-care and daily household living. Examples of skills include personal hygiene, dressing, toileting, exercising, laundry, household cleaning, washing dishes, preparing snacks, cooking skills, shopping and personal hygiene. Our Group Home provides us with further opportunities to practise skills such as bed making, loading and unloading dishwashers and washing machines, sweeping, and so on.
